Gabnalm Alpine Lodge in Kaiserwinkl

When you think of a lodge at almost 900 metres in the Tirolean mountains, you inevitably picture a rustic, old alpine hut without electricity and water. Not so the Gabnalm, in existence since 1787. It combines cosinesss and a rustic ambience with modern amenities.

For nature lovers, families with children, sports fans and all those who can’t get enough of the Tyrolean mountains, an alpine lodge holiday in Tirol at the Gabnalm with a view of the impressive "Zahmer Kaiser" is like tailor-made. It captivates with its sunny stand-alone location on a south-facing slope in the charming mountain community of Rettenschöss. From here, ideal options for hiking and bike tours open up in summer. In winter, you can set off from the Gabnalm on wonderful ski tours as well aswinter and snowshoe hikes. Within 15 minutes’ drive you’ll get to a small grocery and a cheese dairy, and within 25 min. you’ll be in Kufstein.

A room for some 50 people forms the special setting for your celebration or seminar!

The Gabnalm offers room for max. 15 - 27 persons. Five sleeping quarters, a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy farmhouse room with tiled stove, bathroom with bathtub, separate WC, an additional shower with separate WC and in the dormitory under the roof one more shower with separate WC. Balcony, terrace and carport complete the facilities of this comfortable alpine lodge. The alpine lodge can be booked both for your winter and summer holidays in Tirol!

In the associated Dagnhof in Walchsee you have the opportunity to use the sauna for € 10,- per person.

Facilities at the Gabnalm in Walchsee

No matter if summer or winter holidays, experience very special holiday moments at the rustic and idyllic Gabnalm Alpine Lodge in Rettenschöss in Kaiserwinkl. Spend cosy and social winter evenings in the living room by the warm tiled stove or on warm summer days barbecuing on the terrace with wonderful panoramic views - fireplace and tripod with grillage available.

In summer and the warm transition months, the Gabnalm offers you one more sleeping quarter for 12 persons on the 2nd floor with an extra shower and WC.

Rustic alpine lodge for 27 persons

Those who love rustic cosiness are in just the right place at the alpine lodge. The Gabnalm in Rettenschöss is laid out and equipped as follows:

  • Cosy, large farmhouse room with tiled stove
  • Rustic kitchen with wood-burning stove, gas cooker, fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine
  • 4 bedrooms for 15 persons in total
  • Bathroom, shower, 2 WCs
  • Balcony and terrace
  • Carport
  • In the months March to November, a further sleeping quarter for 12 persons with its own shower and separate WC

What you should also know

The Gabnalm can be reached year-round by car. However, in winter we recommend putting on snow chains if the snow situation so requires.

Bedlinen and tea towels are available. Please bring your own face and bath towels.

Pets are welcome for a surcharge.

Seminars, celebrations & anniversaries

The alpine lodge for your event

Be it a birthday, baptism, anniversary, company or family celebration - a separate room at the Gabnalm offers space for 50 persons. The peaceful and secluded location makes it the ideal place for holding seminars at an alpine lodge in Tirol. The peacefulness and view of the unique backdrop of the "Zahmer Kaiser" contribute to making your seminars or conferences a complete success. Every year, we already put on 3 to 4 Yoga - weeks. In fair weather on the terrace, and in bad weather the party room will be cleared.
